E.P. CARRILLO INCH LIMITADA 2019

The Inch, one of the best-selling smokes from Hall of Fame cigarmaker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, will soon have a short-run version.

The Inch Limited Edition 2019 will be made with an entirely Nicaraguan core and finished with a Connecticut Habano wrapper. The one-size smoke is 6 1/8 inches long and, true to its name, is one-inch thick with a 64 ring gauge.

EPC Cigar Co. is limiting production to 20,000 cigars, 2,000 boxes of 10 and is rolled at Tabacalera La Alianza in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Perez-Carrillo said this cigar is the result of several years of tobacco accumulation and tinkering with blending ultra-fat cigars.

“A vision from my son and the creative side of my daughter, along with a selection of aged tobaccos accumulated over the years, allowed me to create this commemorative blend for our flagship line,” he said. “The Limitada is years of thought as to what blend gets me closer to mastering big-ring-gauge blending.”

Perez-Carrillo has been at the forefront of the fat cigar trend. When he made La Gloria Cubanas in the late-1990s, he created an ultra-thick line of smokes called La Gloria Cubana Serie R, which pushed 6 by 60 cigars into the mainstream.

Perez-Carrillo, who was inducted into theCigar Aficionado Hall of Fame in 2012, is the maker of the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic, Cigar Aficionado’s 2018 Cigar of theYear.
