Is a boutique cigar company that mixes art, passion and flavor to enhance the cigar smoking experience. History: We started our business 25 years ago with a small shop called New York Cigar Inn. In 2015, we sold our business to Casa De Montecristo and our journey in making cigars started when we visited Esteli, Nicaragua. We teamed up with AJ Fernandez to blend, manufacture and distribute our cigars.

When former New York City cigar retailers Billy and Gus Fakih released their Viva La Vida brand in March, they didn’t have a distributor. Now, the line has been picked up by A.J. Fernandez Cigar CO., which also makes the cigar for them in Nicaragua. It’s the only third-party brand that A.J. Fernandez distributes.

“I have known Billy and Gus since I launched the San Lotano brand,” says A.J. Fernandez, “and they were one of the first and best supporters while operating the Cigar Inn in New York City. We maintained a great relationship since then, after they sold the store. I’m proud to not only call them business associates but great friends as well.”

The A.J. Fernandez name is printed on the outer lid of the black box of Viva La Vida, but not the band.

Artesano Del Tabaco has announced a line extension to its Viva La Vida brand known as Club 500. The cigar is Viva La Vida’s first box-pressed offering.

The name Club 500 is a tribute to the first 500 cigar lounges who supported the Viva La Vida brand.
